• Put jewelry on last – after applying perfume, lotion, hairspray, or makeup. Chemicals in these products can dull the gold plating and affect natural stones.

Remove before:

• Showering, bathing, or swimming (chlorine and saltwater are especially harmful).
• Exercise or heavy physical activity (sweat and impact can damage plating and stones).
• Sleeping – to avoid accidental pressure or scratching.
• Household cleaning – detergents and abrasive agents are not friendly to plated surfaces.

• For rings: always remove by gently pulling from the sides, never from the top stone setting.

Routine cleaning (for light dirt):

• Mix a few drops of mild liquid soap (no citrus or harsh chemicals) into lukewarm water.
• Dip a very soft-bristled brush (e.g., a baby toothbrush) into the solution and gently clean the piece, paying extra attention to crevices where dirt may collect.
• Rinse with clean lukewarm water and pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Important for gold-plated silver:

• Do not rub vigorously – excessive friction can wear away the gold layer.
• Avoid silver polishing cloths or silver dips; they are too abrasive for plated surfaces and may strip the plating.
• If tarnishing appears on the silver base (e.g., at edges or engravings), use a specialized gold-polishing cloth very lightly – but we recommend professional cleaning instead.

For natural stones:

• Never use ultrasonic cleaners, steam cleaners, or harsh chemical solutions – they can crack or discolour many gemstones.
• Some stones are porous (e.g., turquoise, opal, pearls) – keep them dry and avoid soaking.

• Store each piece separately – preferably in an individual soft pouch or a small zip-lock bag with as much air expelled as possible. This prevents scratching and minimises oxidation.
• Keep your jewelry in a cool, dry, dark place – away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and humidity (never in the bathroom).
• Avoid rubber containers – they can accelerate tarnishing.

• Gold plating is a delicate finish. Over time, and with regular wear, it will naturally fade or wear thin – especially on high-friction areas (e.g., ring interiors, chain clasps). This is normal wear and tear, not a manufacturing defect.
• The longevity of plating depends on individual factors such as skin acidity, perspiration, and exposure to chemicals.
• Natural stones may vary in colour, veining, and inclusions – these are not flaws but marks of authenticity and are celebrated as part of their unique character.
